SAYRE — Joe's Marine scored four runs in the bottom of the their inning and made them stand up in a 4-3 win over Williams Ford here Monday evening in Sayre / Athens Little League Majors Division baseball action at Jeff Terpko Field.

Williams Ford starter Caleb Nichols shut down Joe's Marine for the first two innings, but the McDonald’s offense came to life in the third inning and touched Nichols and reliever Mason Lister for four runs.

Andrew Vanderpool led off with a single, and Kaden Bennett reached on an error. After Zach Garrity singled in a run, a wild pitch scored another to make it 2-0. After Lucas Horton and Gabe Horton were hit by pitches, Jack Ennis singled in a pair of runs to make it 4-0.

Lister settled down and struck out the final two batters, and then struck out the side in the fourth and fifth innings.

Luke Horton struck out five and walked one in two scoreless innings to start the game for Joe’s.

Garrity relieved and pitched two one-hit innings of scoreless relief, striking out five and walking one before Williams Ford got to him in the fifth inning. With one out and a runner on first, Jaden Wright worked a walk, and Lister smacked a three-run home run to trim the deficit to 4-3.

After hitting Cameron Sullivan was hit by a pitch, Garrity struck out a batter, and induced a grounbdball back to the mound to end the inning.

Kaden Bennett pitched the sixth inning to record the save. He retired the side in order, and struck out the final two batters.

Garrity stroked three singles and scored a run to lead Joe's at the plate, while Ennis and Vanderpool singled, and Luke Horton and Bennett each scored a run.

Lister smashed a three-run homer and singled to lead Williams Ford at the plate, while Sander Bertsch singled, and Shawn VanDyke and Wright each scored a run.
