SAYRE LITTLE LEAGUE (JUNIORS): SAYRE'S W.J. GRAPHICS WINS THREE GAMES, IMPROVES TO 4-1 ON SEASON (2017-05-17)

SAYRE — Sayre’s W.J. Graphics picked up wins over Troy, Athens’ Griffin, Dawson, DePaola & Jones Law, and Towanda in recent Juniors Division baseball action to improve to 4-1 on the season.

W.J. Graphics 8, Troy 2
Dom Fabbri pitched a complete game to lead W.J. Graphics to an 8-2 win over Troy Monday.

Fabbri allowed two runs on two hits, while striking out seven and walking two in six innings of work to earn the win. He also retired 11 straight Troy batters in one stretch.

Leading 2-0, W.J. Graphics took control with three runs in the fourth inning in a rally that featured RBI singles by Oakley Gorman and R.J. Spears.

Gorman singled twice, scored a run, and drove in a run, and Jake Burgess singled twice and scored a run to lead W.J. Graphics at the plate, while Brayden Horton singled, walked three times, scored three runs, and drove in a run, and Kyler Setzer doubled and had two RBI.

Spears singled, scored a run, and drove in a run in the win, while David Northrup singled and knocked in a run. Mason Houseknecht singled, Zach Moore scored a run and drove in a run, and Kannon VanDuzer and Daniel Horton each scored a run.

W.J. Graphics 21, Griffin, Dawson, DePaola & Jones Law 2
At Athens, after scoring three runs in the top of the first inning, W.J. Graphics pushed 10 runs across the plate in the second inning en route to a 21-2 win over Athens’ Griffin, Dawson, DePaola & Jones Law on May 7.

David Northrup had an RBI single, and Oakley Gorman stroked a two-run single in the first inning to put W.J. Graphics up 3-0.

R.J. Spears and Zach Moore each drove in two runs in the second inning, and Kyler Setzer, Daniel Horton, David Northrup, and Brayden Horton each had one as W.J. Graphics pushed its lead to 13-0.

Brayden Horton had three hits, including a pair of doubles, scored four runs, and drove in a run tolled W.J. Graphics at the plate, while Gorman stroked three singles, scored two runs, and had three RBI, and Spears tripled and singled, scored two runs, and had four RBI.

Moore doubled and singled, scored three runs, and had three RBI in the win, while Setzer singled twice, scored two runs, and had three RBI, Dom Fabbri singled twice, scored two runs, and knocked in a run, Northrup and Daniel Horton each singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in a run, and Nicholas Ficarro singled, scored a run, and drove in a run.

Fabbri, who gave up one hit through the first three innings, struck out two in earning the win.

Carter Jones doubled and singled to lead GDD&J Law at the plate, while Jared Peterson singled and scored a run, and Lucas Aquilio scored a run.

W.J. Graphics 12, Towanda 0
At Towanda, W.J. Graphics scored nine runs in the top of the second inning en route to a, 12-0, five-inning win over Towanda on May 8.

David Northrup tossed a two-hitter and struck out six without walking a batter in a complete-game effort to earn the win.

After leaving runners on second and third in the first inning, W.J. Graphics sent 13 batters to the plate in a nine-run blitz. The key blows in the inning were a two-run triple by R.J. Spears, a two-run single by Kyler Setzer, and RBI singles by Zach Moore and Oakley Gorman.

Setzer stroked three singles, scored a run, and had two RBI to pace W.J. Graphics at the plate, while Dom Fabbri singled twice and scored a pair of runs, Spears tripled, scored a run, and drove in two runs.

Gorman and Moore each singled, scored a run, and knocked a run in the win, while Brayden Horton singled and scored two runs, and Jake Burgess, Mason Houseknecht, and Daniel Horton each scored a run.
