SYRACUSE — Tioga Central baseball standout Patton Taylor pitched a one-hit shutout Sunday, advancing the CNY Thunder Americans into the finals of the CNY Thunder Classic.
Taylor struck out eight and walked four, facing 30 batters over seven innings as the Americans defeated the Ottawa Napean Canadians in the semifinals (score not available).
The Americans fell to the Canadian Terriers, 4-2, in the championship game.
Taylor is joined on the team by Tioga infielder Tommy Ferguson.
