CANANDAIGUA - Tioga advanced eight wrestlers and Sayre will take one into this afternoon;s semifinals here at the annual Robert Bradshaw Invitational.

Quarter-final winners for the Tigers this morning were 7th-grader Caden Bellis, freshman Emmett Wood, juniors David MacWhinnie and Brady Worthing, and seniors John Worthing, Austin Lamb, Zac Warner, and Stephen Taylor.

Sayre sophomore Jordan Goodrich also advance to the semifinals.

The Tigers also have six wrestlers alive in the consolation bracket, while the Redskins have five.

Webster-Thomas remains in the lead in the team standings with 174 points, while Tioga is second wih 149, Horseheads third with 117, Chenango Forks fourth with 116.5, and Pioneer fifth with 103.

At 99 pounds, Bellis, the third seed, was dominant in a 16-0 technical fall win over Ryan Massengale of Horseheads in their quarter-final match-up. He will face second seed Caleb Sweet of South Seneca in the semifinals.

Also at 99 pounds, Tioga 7th-grader Gianna Silvestri won his first wrestleback bout of the day by fall in 4:06 over Honeoye Falls-Lima's Jazz Spaulding.

At 106 pounds, Sayre freshman Daniel Horton lost via fall in the quarterfinals to Pal-Mac's Jon Battoglia.

At 113 pounds, Tioga freshman Mason Welch won his first wrestleback bout of the day, pinning Brighton's Daniel Barraclough-Tan in 3:16.

At 126 pounds, MacWhinnie forged an 11-4 decision over Calum Hooper in the quarter-finals. He will face top seed Joe Powers of Port Byron in the semifinals.

At 132 pounds, Brady Worthing, the second seed, pinned Horseheads' Louie Menard in 48 seconds to advance to the semifinals. He will face third seed Logan Gumble of Chenango Forks in the semifinals.

At 138 pounds, John Worthing, the top seed, decked Pal-Mac's Sam Quick in 51 seconds in their quarterfinal match-up. He will face fifth seed Charlie Burgess of Marcus Whitman-Penn Yan in the semifinals.

At 145 pounds, Lamb, the top seed, forged a 15-2 major decision win over Geneva's Andrew Mateo to advance to the semifinals. He will face Brandon Perone of McQuaid Jesuit in the semifinals.

Also at 145 pounds, Sayre freshman Jacob Bennett won his first wrestleback match of the day, a 9-1 major decision over Chenango Forks' Victor Arciolla.

At 152 pounds, Emmett Wood, the fourth seed, pinned Marcus Whitman-Penn Yan's Chad Smith in 1:25 in their quarter-final match-up. He will face top seed Mike Fronczak of Hilton in the semifinals.

At 160 pounds, Warner, the second seed, scored a fall over Lee Abbey of Chenango Forks in 1:58 to advance to the semifinals. He will face third-seed Liam Outhouse of Canandaigua in the semifinals.

Also at 160 pounds, Sayre senior Zaine Patnode forged a 12-4 decision over Hilton's Ruvim Poplavskiy in his first wrestleback match of the day.

At 170 pounds, Sayre freshman Josh Wilson was pinned in his quarter-final match-up with Hilton's Billy Hart.

At 182 pounds, Tioga junior Dom Wood dropped a 13-2 major decision in the quarterfinals to Chris Pannell of Webster-Thomas.

At 195 pounds, Goodrich, the fifth seed, pinned Tyler Colbey of Irondequoit in 4:22 to advance to the semifinals. He will face top seed Noah Lehman of Webster-Thomas in the semifinals.

Also at 195 pounds, Tioga junior Jared Lamb dropped his quarter-final match-up to Canandaigua's Ryan Kuhn via a 10-4 decision.

At 285 pounds, Taylor, the top seed, advanced to the semifinals with a pin of Alexander's Jonathan Bigsby in 4:41. He will face fourth seed Anthony Oca of Webster-Thomas in the semifinals.

Also at 285 pounds, Sayre freshman Nikolas Polzella was eliminated via fall to Chenango Forks' Hunter Gibbore in his first wrestleback match of the day.

Tioga junior Aaron Howard was eliminated in his first wrestleback match of the day, a loss by fall to Port Byron's Aaron Clark.

Tioga 8th-grader Emily Sindoni, at 120 pounds, and Tioga senior Joe Lloyd, at 195 pounds, received byes in their first wrestleback bouts of the day.
