NTL GIRLS SWIMMING: ATHENS WINS TEAM TITLE, SAYRE SECOND AT LEAGUE MEET (22 PHOTOS) (2019-02-13)

SAYRE - Freshman Brooke Kopatz was a triple-winner, and junior Lauren Neville and sophomore Alyson Rockwell were double-winners to lead Athens to the team title here Wednesday afternoon at the NTL Swimming & Diving Championships.

Senior Kayla Kittle was a triple-winner, and junior Jillian Shay was a double-winner to help Sayre to a second-place finish.

Kopatz, Neville, and Rockwell teamed with junior Sierra Ardrey to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:09.15, edging out the Sayre foursome of senior Emily Lattimer, Shay, Kittle, and junior Kayla Hughey by 0.57 seconds.

Kopatz, Neville and Rockwell also teamed with sophomore Madison Derrig to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:31.94.

Kopatz won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:15.69, while Shay was third in 1:22.03, freshman Raven McCarthy-Gardner was fourth in 1:22.2, and Rockwell was sixth in 1:24.36.

Kopatz finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:18.81, while Hughey was third inn 2:24.64, Derrig was fourth in 2:34.51, Athens senior Katie Felt was sixth in 2:46.39, and Athens freshman Kaylee Grazul was seventh in 2:49.39.

Kittle won the 50-yard freestyle in 26.03 seconds, while Sayre senior Claire Shaffer was second in 28.49 seconds, McCarthy-Gardner was fourth in 29.78 seconds, Sayre senior Jasmine Fairlie was fifth in 30.37 seconds, and Athens senior Hayleigh Macik was seventh in 30.65 seconds.

Kittle also won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:06.9, while Ardrey was second in 1:14.89, Neville finished third in 1:15.44, Jasmine Fairlie was fifth in 1:26.08, freshman Amelia Robinson was sixth in 1:34.16, and Sayre senior Jordyn Maxim was seventh in 1:35.32.

Shay won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:01.37, while Hughey was second in 1:02.79, Shaffer was third in 1:04.08, Derrig was fourth in 1:08.59, and Macik was seventh in 1:11.23.

Kittle and Shay teamed with Shaffer and Hughey to win the 200-yard freestyle in 1:53.04, while the Athens foursome of Bard, Ardrey, Macik and Derrig finished second in 2:02.94.

Athens junior Christina Bard won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:56.29, and Liddane was second in 3:11.52.

Sayre senior Mackenzie Wilkerson won the 1-meter diving competition with 185.5 points, and Athens freshman Taylor Walker was third with 116.8 points.

Neville finished second in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:13.11, while Rockwell was third in 1:16.47, Bard was fifth in 1:17.83, and Lattimer was sixth in 1:24.46.

Derrig finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in a  time of 7:14.68, while Liddane was third in 7:18.09, and Felt was fifth in 7:56.46.
