In the semifinals Saturday, nationally-ranked Herkimer ended Corning's run with an 84-75 win. Herkimer ended up winning the Region III crown Sunday to improve to 28-1 on the season, and advances to the NJCAA National Championships.

Ward scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the loss. He made 9 of 15 shots from the field, including 1 of 2 from 3-point range, and was 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.
