NTL SOFTBALL: NEB ROLLS TO 15-0 WIN OVER SAYRE (2019-04-17)

LERAYSVILLE "” Northeast Bradford scored eight runs in the second inning, and six more in the third en route to a 15-0 four-inning win over Sayre here Wednesday afternoon in NTL Small School Division softball action.

The Lady Panthers did the majority of their damage in the second inning with two outs. Up 2-0 with two outs, Jordan Shumway stroked a two-run single, J Hansen followed with an RBI single, and Emily Susanj capped the rally with a three-run home to left field.

The Lady Redskins put two runners on in the top of the third on a one-single by Kateri Starkweather and a two-out single by Lexi Post, but let both runners stranded.

Chloe Baker's two run single highlighted NEB's five-run third-inning rally that also featured RBI singles from Julianna Sunsaj, Jennah Hansen, and Emily Susanj.

Emily Susanj's RBI double in the bottom of the fourth made it 15-0 to invoke the "˜mercy rule."

Morgan Post earned the win for NEB, striking out six in four innings of two-hit ball.

Sophomore Alyssa Murrelle was tagged with the loss. She allowed eight runs - one earned "” on five hits, while striking out one and walking two in 1 2/3 innings of work.

Sayre, now 0-6, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Cowanesque Valley.
