TOP SCORES FOR WEEK OF FEB. 4 FEB. 10

Valley Sports Report
WAVERLY Mark Walters is a seasoned-veteran at the Valley Bowling Center (and Penn-York Lanes before that), but don't tell him he's getting old.

Walters not only rolled a 784 series to top the seniors charts in Week 22 of league bowling here at VBC, but also rolled an 804 in men's action, second only for the week to William Slack's 824. Slack's series ties him for 5th in the season's Top 25, while Walters' series ties him for 24th.

Walters, who is likely to move up the No. 7 in the Valley Sports Report Bowler of the Year standings, also had the high game of the week (279) and rolled a 299 in men's action.

He wasn't the only senior to make headlines this week as Ken Sindoni Sr. rolled a 300. Mike Panek also rolled a 300 and Steve Nagar shot a 299 his second of the 2011-12 season. There have been 54 perfect games thrown in the men's divisions this season and 11 299 games.

Also in the senior ranks, Larry Teeter Sr. rolled a 714, which ties him for 22nd. Walters' 784 series puts him at No. 2 for 2011-12.

The women's scores were low for the week with none breaking into the top 25. Jodi Joseph topped the charts with a 639, while Shelly Klym rolled a 235 high game.

Jane Sackett led the senior women's field with a 527 series, good for No. 9 in the Top 25, and a 209 high game, which is No. 5 for the season.

In the junior ranks, Sayre senior Desirae Waltman rolled her second 700 series, a 704, in a month, which included the high game of the week, a 256. Waverly sophomore Meaghann Campbell rolled a 564, including a 204.

For the boys, Waverly freshman Mason Beard banged out a 713 series, including a 249, while WHS senior Jared Joseph rolled a 690, including a 249. Waverly sophomore Cameron Lunn also rolled a 670, with a 244.
