WAVERLY GRAD GORMAN SHINES IN FIRST COLLEGE GAME (2010-09-05)

HUNTINGDON, Pa. — In his first collegiate game, Waverly grad Kevin Gorman led Juniata with 10 tackles, including six solo tackles, and also registered a sack, but it was in a losing cause as Juniata dropped a 3-0 decision to McDaniel College Saturday afternoon.

Gorman, a 2010 Waverly grad, was a first-team all-state linebacker as a junior and then a first-team all-state running back in his senior season.

ANOTHER CHANGE TO WAVERLY FOOTBALL SCHEDULE (2010-09-02)

Another week, another change to the 2010 Waverly varsity football schedule.

Unlike the addition of Vestal and Elmira Southside to the schedule last week, Thursday's change will be viewed positively by Waverly fans as the Wolverines will now host Newark Valley on Sept. 17, instead of playing at Newark Valley on Sept. 18.

Waverly will now play four home games and four road games.

WAVERLY — Vestal scored a pair of third-quarter TDs to break open a close game en route to a season-opening 41-14 win over Waverly in Section IV football action here Friday night at Memorial Stadium.
