SOUTHPORT — Waverly was looking to celebrate another IAC championship on Notre Dame's home floor, but the Crusaders had other ideas.

Notre Dame used a harassing defense to limit Waverly to 27 percent (16 of 59) shooting from the field in handing the Wolverines their first IAC loss of the season, a 50-38 decision here Friday night. ...more

Thursday night, sophomore Reylyn Schwartzhoff was dominant in the low post, scoring 27 points and grabbing 10 rebounds and doing it against a very good Notre Dame team.

I was on hand last night for the Waverly-Tioga girls game and I must say it was an odd, but entertaining game.

Neither team found any kind of rhythm in the game until Waverly's decisive fourth-quarter run.

On three different occasions, Waverly used a small run to take a seven- or eight-point lead only to have Tioga rally to tie the game.
