IAC BASEBALL / SOFTBALL: MORE CHANGES TO CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULES

THE VALLEY — Mother Nature has disrupted both the IAC baseball championships, which has been pushed back another day due to field conditions at Tompkins-Cortland Community Colleg — and will start on Thursday, and the IAC softball championships at Cornell University.

With the dates changing, Division 1 champ Marathon has re-entered the playoffs.

The following is the updated schedule:

ITHACA — The IAC softball championship tournament, slated to be held here at Cornell University, has been moved back one day.

The semifinals will now be held Wednesday with Waverly squaring off against Marathon at 3 p.m., and Edison and Notre Dame facing off at 5 p.m.

The winners will play Thursday at 5 p.m.

W’PORT — Seniors Rachel Hutchison and Ariana Gambrell are making a return trip to States next weekend, and they’re taking a few of their friends along with them.

Hutchison earned the Lady Wildcats’ lone gold medal of the day, while Gambrell won a silver medal, and  junior Cassidy Stackpole, and the 1,600-meter relay team hit state standards Saturday at the District 4, Class AA Track & Field Championships. ...more
