COLLEGE BASEBALL: TIOGA GRAD HENDERSHOT STROKES TWO SINGLES IN PENN STATE'S 2-1 LOSS (2019-03-31)

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Tioga grad Parker Hendershot, a sophomore on the Penn State baseball team, stroked a pair singles, but Penn State left eight runners on base in a 2-1 extra-inning loss to Indiana Sunday afternoon in Big Ten action.

Hendershot drove in the Nittany Lions' only run in the top of the sixth inning to give them a 1-0 lead, but the Boilermakers evened the score in the home half of frame, and won it in the bottom of the 10th inning.

On Friday, Hendershot had one of Penn State's four hits in a 1-0 loss at Purdue.

On the season, Hendershot is hitting .282 with 24 hits in 85 at-bats, including two doubles and one triple. He he has 10 runs scored and nine RBI, as well as three stolen bases.

Defensively, Hendershot has committed just three errors in 138 chances for a fielding percentage of .978.

Penn State, 14-8 overall this season, hosts Bucknell Tuesday and St. Bonaventure Wednesday. The Nittany Lions, 0-5 in Big Ten play, travel to Indiana this weekend for a three-game series.
