SAYRE LITTLE LEAGUE (MAJORS): GREEN DOMINANT IN JOE'S MARINE'S 7-0 WIN OVER NEBALL (2019-05-05)

SAYRE "” Karter Green was dominant, pitching no-hit ball over 5 1/3 innings, in Joe's Marine's 7-0 win over NEBall here Thursday in Majors Division Little League baseball action.

Green walked the first NEBall batter of the game, but he was later erased trying to steal. Green then struck out the next five batters he faced.

Joe's Marine took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Brendan Cooke led off with a single, but was replaced on the base paths by Maison Apgar after a fielder's choice. Braylon Slater and Green then belted consecutive RBI triples to make it 2-0.

Green recorded four strikeouts in the third inning, thanks to a dropped third strike, and ended the game with 15 strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. He walked three.

Slater struck out the final two batters of the game.

Slater ripped three triples, scored two runs, and had three RBI, and Green had three hits, including a triple, and one run scored to power Joe's Marine at the plate, while Tanner Henry singled twice.

Cooke singled and scored one run in the win, while Carson Rockwell singled and drove in one run, while Apgar scored two runs, and Jamisen Gardner crossed the plate once.
