ATHENS "” Matt Driesbaugh and Matthias Welles combined to throw a two-hitter to lead Williams Toyota to a 3-2 win over C&N Bank here Tuesday night in Athens Little League Majors Division baseball action.

Driesbaugh earned the win, allowing one unearned run on two hits, while striking out six and walking none in four innings on the mound. Welles registered the save, allowing an unearned run, while striking out six and walking one in two hitless innings of relief.

Troy Rosenbloom was tagged with the loss for C&N Bank, allowing two runs - one earned - on three hits, while striking out five and walking one in 2 1/3 innings. Nick Grazul allowed one run on two hits, while striking out four and walking one in 2 2/3 innings of relief.

Welles led off the home half of the first inning with a double, and scored on a two-out error to give Williams Toyota a quick 1-0 lead.

Welles bashed a one-out home run in the bottom of the third inning to take a 2-0 lead.

Rodney Chapman plated Rosenbloom, who reached on a one-out single, with C&N Bank's first run in the top of the fourth inning to trim the deficit to 2-1, but Williams Toyota answered in the home half of the frame on a lead-off triple by Oliver Johnson and an RBI groundout off the bat of Dylan Saxon.

C&N Bank scored a run on a passed ball in the top of the sixth, and had runners on second and third base, but Welles induced a groundout to end the game.

Welles homered and doubled, scored two runs, and drove in one run, while Braden Reed doubled and singled, and Johnson tripled and scored one run to account for Williams Toyota's five hits.

Rosenbloom singled and scored one run, and Chapman singled and drove in one run to account for C&N Bank's two hits.
