ENDICOTT "” Sophomore Evan Hubbard, junior Mackenzie Macumber, and freshman Julia Walsh had a pair of top-six place-finishes to lead Tioga's efforts here Saturday at the annual Parkhurst Tack & Field Invitational.

The Tioga boys finished 11th in the 15-team field with 12 points, while the Lady Tigers were 15th with 6.5 points.

BOYS
Hubbard had the best finish of the day for either of the Tiger teams, placing  third in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:03.23.

Hubbard also teamed with freshmen Emmett Wood and Chris Walsh, and senior Alex Bloss to finish sixth in the 400-meter relay in a time of 47.45 seconds.

Sophomore Nate Jaye was the only other point-winner for the Tioga boys, placing fourth in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 10-feet.

Junior Ezra Steele finished ninth in the 400-meter run in a time of 56.82 seconds, and freshman Matt Watson was 12th in 56.82 seconds.

Watson finished ninth in the long jump with a leap of 18-feet, 1 3/4-inches, and sophomore Jacob Fethers was 19th at 13-feet, 5 1/2-inches. Watson finished 13th in the triple jump with a mark of 36-feet, 1 3/4-inches, and Walsh was 17th at 31-feet, 8-inches.

Emmett Wood finished 15th in the 100-meter dash in 12.13 seconds, and Walsh was 20th in 12.7.

Walsh finished 16th in the 200-meter dash in 25.69 seconds, and Hubbard was 22nd in 28.44 seconds.

Junior Dom Wood finished 16th in the shot put with a heave of 34-feet, 6 1/4-inches, and senior Austin Lamb was 17th at 33-feet, 3 1/2-inches. Dom Wood was 19th in the discus at 86-feet, 9-inches, and Colt Herella was 21st in 80-feet, 4-inches.

Sophomore Brayden Vargason finished 17th in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:42.32.

Vargason also finished 20th in the 800-meter dash in 2:30.25, and Lucas Nichols was 22nd in 2:42.51.

Ithaca claimed the team title with 140 points, well ahead of runner-up Union-Endicott, which tallied 116 points.

GIRLS
Macumber and Walsh teamed with freshman Mariah Nichols and sophomore Jenna Smolinski to record the Lady Tigers' best finish of the day, placing fifth in the 400-meter relay in a time of 56.66 seconds.

Macumber, who ran a 17.62 seconds in the preliminaries, finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 18.09 seconds. Nichols finished ninth in 18.08 seconds.

Walsh finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:15.73, and Nichols was ninth in 1:17.59. Walsh tied for sixh place in the pole vault at 7-feet.

Junior Bri Rossi finished sixth in the high jump at 4-foot, 2-inches.

The foursome of Walsh, Macumber, 7th-grader Reese Howey, and freshman Kate Burrowes narrowly missed a trip to the podium, placing seventh in the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 5:00.12.

Macumber finished ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 29-feet, 10 3/4-inches, and Nichols was 14th at 28-feet, 7-inches.

Junior Gwen Watson finished ninth in the discus with a toss of 75-feet, 6-inches, and junior Tessa Holstein was 18th at 62-feet, 1-inch. Holstein finished 14th in the shot put with a heave of 24-feet, 3-inches, and Watson was 17th at 21-feet, 7-inches.

Burrowes finished 12th in the long jump with a leap of 13-feet, 10 1/4-inches, and Rossi was 15th at 12-feet, 9 1/2-inches.

Ithaca claimed the team title with 107.5 points, and Vestal was the runner-up with 98 points.
