THE VALLEY - The marquee match-up of the day features state-ranked Waverly squaring off against Marathon in the IAC softball playoff semifinals at Cornell University.

In another game of importance, Sayre baseball can clinch a share of the NTL Small School Division title with a win at Cowanesque Valley.

SOFTBALL
IAC Championship - Semifinals
Waverly (14-1) vs Marathon (13-2), 3 p.m. @ Cornell University:
The Lady Wolverines, ranked second in Class B in New York State, have been off since a 16-0 win over Newark Valley on May 3, and have played just one game since April 26.

The Lady Olympians are coming off a 7-4 win over Candor Thursday that locked up the Division 1 title.

The winner faces the winner of the Edison-Notre Dame game on Thursday.

SOFTBALL
Sayre (1-15) at Cowanesque Valley (4-10), 4:30 p.m.:
The Lady Redskins are coming off their first win of the season, an 11-1 victory over Unadilla Valley Saturday at the Emma Durant Memorial Tournament, while the Lady Indians rolled to an 18-4 win over Bucktail Area.

BASEBALL
Sayre (8-8 overall, 7-5 NTL Small) at Cowanesque Valley (7-11, 6-6), 4:30 p.m.:
The Redskins are coming off a 10-2 loss to Canton Thursday, while the Indians topped Williamson, 9-2.

Sayre leads the division by one game over Canton and Cowanesque Valley, and can clinch a share of the Small School title with a win this afternoon. A Cowanesque Valley win throws the division into a three-way tie.

Sayre hosts NEB Saturday in the regular-season finale, while Canton hosts Towanda this afternoon in its final game, and CV wraps up its season at NEB Saturday morning.
