THE VALLEY - On the final day of the baseball and softball regular season, District 4 track & field athletes, and Section IV boys golfers vie for berths at their respective state championships.

Of note on the diamond, Sayre baseball can clinch a division title with a win this afternoon against NEB.

TRACK & FIELD
District 4, Class AA Championships, 9:30 a.m. (field), 10 a.m. (track):
It's Day 2 of the District 4, Class AA Championships.

Athens sophomore Benny Gambrell has already punched his ticket in the long jump.

Today, Athens seniors Ariana Gambrell (100-meter hurdles and shot put), and Rachel Hutchison (300-meter hurdles), and juniors Cassidy Stackpole (javelin) and Damian Hudson (100- and 200-meter dashes).

BOYS GOLF
Section IV Individual Medalists Tournament, 9 a.m.:
Tioga junior Sam Taylor, who is currently in sixth place, and senior A.J. Middendorf, tied for 19th place, compete in Day 2 of the Medalists Tournament.

The top nine advance to States.

BASEBALL
NEB (6-10 overall, 4-8 NTL) at Sayre (10-8, 8-5), 2 p.m.:
The Redskins are coming off a 7-1 non-league win over Blue Ridge Thursday, while the Panthers dropped a 1-0 decision to Wellsboro.

Sayre clinched a share of the NTL Small School Division earlier this week, and can win the division outright with a win today.

North Penn-Mansfield (5-12) at Athens (13-4), 1 p.m.:
Athens at Towanda (11-7), 5 p.m.:

SOFTBALL
NEB at Sayre, 2 p.m.

Athens at Central Columbia Tournament
Athens vs. Milton, 11 a.m.
