FREDERICK Md. - Sayre grad Connor Hanafin hit safely in five of six postseason games, but Frederick CC came up a bit short, dropping the decisive Game 3 to Lackawanna College in the NJCAA Division II Northeast District best-of-three championship series.

Hanafin, a freshman, hit .409 (9 hits in 22 ABs) in the postseason with three doubles, five runs scored, and five RBI.

Frederick College advanced to District by winning the Region XX title.

On May 10, Hanafin was 2-for-4 with an RBI in Frederick CC's 1-0 win over CCBC Catonsville in the open game of the Region XX tournament. The Cougars had just three hits in the game.

On May 11, Hanafin singled and scored a run in a 10-1 win over CCBC Essex.

After rain pushed back the final game of the Region XX tourney two days to May 14, Hanafin was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, and four RBI in a 21-6 thumping of CCBC Essex.

In its opener against Lackawanna College in the Northeast District Championships, Frederick CC managed just three hits in a 7-0 loss on Friday. Hanafin doubled in four at-bats.

Frederick CC bounced back in a big way Friday night with a 19-5 win over Lackawanna College to even the series at 1-1. Hanafin had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and scored three runs

Hanafin was 0-for-3 with a run scored in the winner-take-all Game 3, which Lackawanna won 14-8.

On the season, Hanafin hit .347 (43 hits in 124 ABs) with 43 runs scored, eight doubles, one triple, four home runs, and 32 RBI. He stole two bases.

Hanafin walked 27 times and had a .475 on-base percentage. He had a .524 slugging percentage, and a .999 OPS.

Frederick CC wrapped up the season with a 36-15 record.
