HORSEHEADS - The Valley Storm 14U travel softball team won three games in a row to capture the Silver Bracket of the Furyious Invitational here Sunday at the Holding Point Recreation Complex.

Valley Storm 9, Eyota Nation 8
Valley Storm scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning, then held off Owego-based Eyota Nation in the home half of the inning for a 9-8 seven-inning win in the quarterfinals.

Valley Storm scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game at 7-7.

In the top of the seventh, Valley Storm took a 9-7 lead with S-VE's Reagan Sudnikovich's double, and Waverly's Bella Romano the key hits in the rally.

Eyota Nation scored one run in the bottom of the seventh inning, but left runners on second and third.

Sudnikovich doubled and singled, and scored two runs, and Romano singled twice and scored one run to pace Valley Storm at the plate, while Wyalusing's Jenelle Johns doubled and scored two runs, and Waverly's Aubrey Ennis doubled and scored one run.

Tioga's Austyn Vance singled and scored one run in the win and Tioga's Felicia Lantz and Bobbi Jo Tarbox each scored one run.

Valley Storm 12, Webster Extreme 3
Valley Storm scored seven runs in the top of the sixth inning to blow open a close game en route to a 12-3 win over Webster Extreme in the semifinals.

Webster Extreme scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead, but the Storm responded with two runs in the second and one in the third to take a 3-2 lead.

After the Extreme scored in the home half of the third to tie the game at 3-3, the Storm scored single runs in the fourth and fifth to take a 5-3 lead.

Tioga's Alissa Hine singled to lead off the inning, and Tioga's Megan Vance started a string of run-scoring singles that also included hits by Wyalusing's Jenelle Johns, S-VE's Reagan Sudnikovich, Waverly's Aubrey Ennis, Tioga's Mykenzie Thetga, and Waverly's Bella Romano.

Johns homered and singled, and scored two runs, and Ennis singled twice and scored three runs to pace Valley Storm at the plate, while Romano doubled and singled and scored two runs, and Thetga doubled and singled, and scored one run.

Hine singled twice and scored one run in the win, while Sudnikovich and Tioga's Megan Vance each singled and scored one run, Tioga's Bobbi Jo Tarbox added a single, and Towanda's Aleah Johnson scored one run.

Johns earned the win in the pitcher's circle. She allowed jut two hits - a two-run home run in the first inning and a single in the sixth - and struck out seven.

Valley Storm 9, Fury Fastpitch 0
Tioga's Alissa Hine turned in a strong pitching performance to lead the Valley Storm to a 9-0 win over the Elmira-based Fury Fastpitch in the championship game.

Hine tossed a one-hitter with two strikeouts, while the defense committed just three errors behind her.

The Storm scored single runs in the second, third and fifth inning, before blowing the game open with six runs in the top of the sixth inning.

Tioga's Austyn Vance tripled and singled, and scored two runs, and Tioga's Mykenzie Thetga singled and scored two runs to pace the Storm at the plate, while Waverly's Bella Romano doubled and scored one run, and Tioga's Felicia Lantz and Bobbi Jo Tarbox each singled and scored one run.

Waverly's Aubrey Ennis added a single in the win, and Wyalusing's Jenelle Johns and Hine each scored one run.
