ELMIRA - Nichols-Tioga posted a big win over Tioga Lawrenceville at the West Elmira 8U Tournament, but dropped contests with Elmira and Owego.

Owego 18, Nichols-Tioga 7
Owego broke open a 1-1 game Monday with five runs in the top of the second inning, then created some breathing room with five more in the third. They built an 18-6 advantage heading into the bottom of the sixth.

Jeremiah Wheeler paced Owego with three hits, two of them  home runs, as well as three runs and five RBI. Ben Harvey chipped in with three hits, including a homer and triple, four runs and an RBI.

Evan Canfield had a homer and a triple, two runs and three RBI; and Roco Canfield contributed a triple, double, one run and an RBI.

Joram Belokur had a hit and three runs; Lincoln Miller added a hit two runs and an RBI; Robert Jackson, William Pellicano and Tobin Reynolds had a hit and a run apiece; Jagger Chrysler and Colby Cordero each had a hit and an RBI; and Harrison Miller drove in one run.

Cordero pitched all six innings, giving up six earned runs on 12 hits and three walks. He struck out nine.

For N-T, Liamm Comstock had three hits, one a triple, two runs and two RBI while Maison Fisher and Parker Jackson had had two hits and one run each. One of Jackson's hits was a double.

Colin Wilson had a triple, two runs and two RBI; Jimmy Burrowes and Eli Gage both had a hit and RBI; Kate Kithcart added a hit and a run; and Jaxon Bidwell had a hit.

Nichols-Tioga 19, Tioga Lawrenceville 2
N-T scored early and often, pounding out 21 hits in the process to rack up a four-inning triumph.

Bidwell drove in four runs and scored three times on a trio of triples. Jackson collected four hits, scored four runs, and drove in another. Kithcart had three hits, three runs and two RBI; Comstock had three hits, including a triple and double, three runs and an RBI; and Wilson contributed three hits, one a triple, and two RBI.

Fisher chipped in with two hits, three runs and an RBI; Gage added two hits and three runs; and Roberts had a hit and two RBI.

Comstock pitched the first three innings, giving up one earned run on five hits. He struck out six and did not allow a walk.

Wilson threw one inning of no-hit ball, fanning three and walking two.

Elmira A 10, Nichols-Tioga 7
N-T got out to a 4-1 lead through 2 1/2 innings, but Elmira scored four runs in the bottom of the third and held off Nichols-Tioga.

Gage had three of N-T's 13 hits and scored twice. Bidwell had two hits, including a double, and had three runs and an RBI; Wilson had two hits and three RBI; and Fisher added two hits and two runs.

Jackson contributed a hit and RBI; and Comstock, Kithcart and Roberts had one hit apiece.

Seven of Elmira's runs were earned. Comstock and Bidwell split 10 strikeouts evenly.
