STAC TENNIS: WAVERLY SWEPT BY CHENANGO VALLEY IN SEASON OPENER (2024-03-25)

BINGHAMTON — Chenango Valley swept all seven matches in a 7-0 season-opening win over Waverly here Monday afternoon in STAC tennis action.

Junior Paxton Grover lost 6-0, 6-0 to CV’s Owen Stafford in first singles, while Waverly senior Hayden Larson was swept by scores of 6-0 and 6-2 by Arin Miller in second singles.

Waverly’s second doubles of Nathan McEwen and Savannah Savercool put up the best fight of the day dropping both sets by scores of 6-3 and 6-2 to Kayon Stalker and Miles Garner.

The third doubles team of Carsyn Sinsabaugh and Kagen Wilson lost 6-0, 6-3 to Jennings Terrell, and Ethan Randall.

Waverly, now 0-1, returns to action Wednesday at Chenango Forks.
