Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — Waverly unveils its new turf baseball and softball fields this afternoon as the Wolverines make their STAC debuts hosting Norwich.
BASEBALL
Sayre (0-1) at Williamson (1-2), 4:30 p.m.: The Redskins are coming off a season-opening, 12-4, loss to Canton last Thursday, while the Warriors dropped a 10-0 decision in five innings to Northeast Bradford on Tuesday.
Williamson blanked Northern Potter, 15-0, on Monday, and dropped its season-opener to Montgomery, 15-0, on Friday.
Norwich (0-1) at Waverly, 5 p.m.: The Wolverines are coming off a 17-3 season, which saw them upended in the Class B quarterfinals by seventh-seeded Lansing, which went on to win the Section IV title, and reach the state finals.
Norwich opened the season with a 17-3 loss to Chenango Forks Tuesday.
SOFTBALL
Sayre (1-0) at Williamson, 4:30 p.m.: The Redskins are coming off a come-from-behind, 16-8, win over Canton Friday, while the Warriors dropped a 3-2 decision to Northeast Bradford in its season-opener.
Norwich (0-1) at Waverly, 5 p.m.: The Wolverines are coming off a 10-11 season that saw them reach the Class B quarterfinals, where they were blanked by state-ranked Chenango Valley, 6-0.
Norwich opened the season Tuesday, and was routed, 26-0, by Chenango Forks.
GIRLS GOLF
Vestal at Waverly (0-2), 4 p.m. @ Tomasso’s Golf Course: The Wolverines, who dropped decisions to Corning and Horseheads Wednesday at Willowbrook Golf Course, host Vestal in their first home match of the season.
TRACK & FIELDAthens at Chenango Forks Relays, 4 p.m.
