Valley Sports ReportROCHESTER — Tompkins-Cortland Community College was swept by Monroe CC in a season-opening doubleheader Saturday, but a trio of Tioga grads —
Gabby Foley, who had five hits in the twinbill,
Abby Foley, and
Austyn Vance, all sophomores — had good games in the nightcap.
In a season-opening 15-1 loss, TCCC managed just two hits, but Gabby Foley had one of them, and RBI double to account for the only run
Abby Foley was 0-for-2, but scored one run, and Vance was 0-for-2.
In the nightcap, a 16-8 Monroe CC win, Gabby Foley was 4-for-4 with a double, one run scored, three RBI, and two stolen bases, while Abby Foley was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored, and two stolen bases.
Vance was 1-for-3 with a double, one run scored, and one RBI.
The Panthers had a doubleheader against SUNY Broome rained out Tuesday, and a doubleheader at Herkimer on Saturday has already been postponed.
TCCC is scheduled to host Mohawk Valley Community College Tuesday in a doubleheader.
