Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — The only action in the Valley Monday is on the baseball diamond at Riverfront Park, and the tennis courts at Waverly. There are a pair of big road games as Tioga baseball travels to Union Springs for a battle of unbeatens, and Waverly softball is on the road at unbeaten Susquehanna Valley.
BASEBALL
NEB (6-3) at Sayre (3-4), 4:30 p.m.: The Redskins are coming off an 8-6 10-inning win over Valley rival Sayre Saturday afternoon, while the Panthers topped Sullivan County, 9-4.
Tioga (7-0) at Union Springs (5-0), 4:30 p.m.: The Tigers are coming off a doubleheader sweep of Newfield by scores of 3-2 and 13-3 on Saturday, while the Wolves blanked Marathon, 5-0, on Monday.
In their most recent meeting, Union Springs edged Tioga, 3-2, in the Section IV, Class quarterfinals last year.
Waverly (11-1 overall, 10-0 STAC) at Susquehanna Valley (3-4, 2-4), 5 p.m.: The Wolverines swept Chenango Forks in a three-game series last week, but saw the week end with a 9-3 non-league loss to Montoursville Saturday, while the Sabers dropped two of three to Windsor, including a 7-6 loss Friday.
SOFTBALL
Tioga (4-0) at Union Springs, 4:30 p.m.: The Tigers are coming off a 15-2 win over Groton Friday, while the Wolves blanked Marathon, 15-0.
Waverly (5-2 overall, 5-0 STAC) at Susquehanna Valley (8-0, 4-0), 6 p.m.: The Wolverines are coming off an 8-5 win over Oneonta Friday, while the Sabers topped Sidney, 8-3, Saturday.
TENNIS
Chenango Forks (4-1 overall, 4-0 STAC) at Waverly (0-6, 0-5), 4:30 p.m.: The Wolverines are coming off a 5-0 non-league loss to Lansing, while the Blue Devils topped Oneonta, 5-2.
