THE WEEK AHEAD: VALLEY TEAMS WILL BE ROAD WARRIORS IN VERY BUSY WEEK OF ACTION (2024-04-28)

Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — It’s another very busy week for Valley teams, but the vast majority of the week’s action is on the road.

There are a whopping 42 events on this week’s slate as teams struggle to make up games rained out in early April, but only 13 of those events are here in the Valley. There are 11 events on the dockets Tuesday, but only four at home, and all 10 of Friday’s events are on the road.

All eight of the events on Athens’ schedule this week are on the road, and six of Sayre’s seven events are as well.

The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:

MONDAY (9)

•  Tioga baseball and softball hosts longtime IAC rival Newark Valley on the diamonds.

•  The Waverly boys host Dryden on the links at Shepard Hills.

•  The Waverly tennis team hosts STAC Central Division rival Owego.
