COLLEGE BASEBALL: SAYRE GRAD WILLIAMS HITS SAFELY IN 6 OF 8 GAMES AT ST. BONAVENTURE (2019-03-17)

OXFORD, Ohio - Sayre grad Matt Williams, a sophomore on St. Bonaventure baseball team, has hit safely in six of the eight games he's played in, including three consecutive pinch-hit appearances, and had a two-hit game Friday at Miami (Ohio).

Williams rapped a double and single, scored two runs, and drove in a run Friday in a 7-6 loss to Miami.

On the season, Williams is hitting .318 (7 hits in 22 ABs) with two doubles, two runs scored, and one RBI. He has started five consecutive games - four at DH and one at first base.

Williams also pitched in one game, tossing the final 1 1/3 innings in a 17-3 loss to Central Conn. State last Sunday. He was tagged for three earned runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings, while striking out two and walking two.

St. Bonaventure, now 1-8, returns to action Sunday at Miami (Ohio).
