WAVERLY — The Waverly girls swept Owego, while the River Hawk boys topped Waverly, 4-1 in a battle of two of the best teams in the STAC here Tuesday afternoon in bowling action at the Owego Bowl.

GIRLS
Waverly 5, Owego 0

Eighth-grader Karis Hayes, and junior Serenity Conklin led the Wolverines to a 5-0 win over the River Hawks.

Waverly won the opening game 793-608, and followed it with wins of 709-646, and 799-774 for a two-point total-pinfall victory of 2,301 to 2,028.

Hayes rolled a 562 series, including a 231 high game, while Conklin shot a 527 series, including a 213.

Eighth-grader Rylie Witman had a 414 series for Waverly, while freshman Emily Houseknecht added a 406, and 7th-grader Ariel Houseknecht tacked on a 292 series.

Elizabeth Reigle led Owego with a 518, and Haley Stephens added a 463.

BOYS
Owego 4, Waverly 1

Owego had a pair of 700 series and a 600 series to overcome a trio of 600 series by Waverly in a 4-1 win.

Owego won the first two games by scores of 1,100-1,031, and 1,096-942, but Waverly bounced back to win the third game 1,078-947. The River Hawks captured the two-point total-pinfall count 3,143 to 3,051.

Connor Kotski (279-226-199) and Evan O’Hara (203-276-225) each rolled 704 series, and Eill Waldron added a 614, including games of 256 and 200, for the River Hawks.

Junior Derek Johnson led Waverly with a 686 series on games of 226, 246, and 214, while senior Dom Wood shot a 617 series on games of 190, 210, and 217, and sophomore Tristan Campbell had a 609 series on games of 209, 188, and 212.

Senior Carter Hayes had a 572 series, including a 245, and senior Trenton Sindoni added a 567, including a 234.

JV BOYS
Owego 5, Waverly 0
Owego won the junior varsity match 5-0, winning the total-pinfall by a count of 2,495 to 1,924.

Seventh-grader Colten Santalucia led Waverly with a 523 series, including a 218, and 8th-grader Trevor Allen added a 413.
