WAVERLY — Sophomore Derek Johnson banged out a monster 700 series to lead the Waverly boys to a sweep of Chenango Valley, while junior Serenity Conklin, and 8th-grader Karis Hayes led the girls to a sweep here Monday afternoon in STAC bowling action at the Valley Bowling Center.

BOYS
Waverly 5, Chenango Valley 0

Johnson rolled a 781 series on games of 246, 279, and 256 to lead the Wolverines to a lopsided sweep.

Waverly won the first game 1,056-787, then followed it up with wins of 1,164-921, and 1,010-836, for a total-pinfall win of 3,230 to 2,544.

Sophomore Tristan Campbell shot a 658 for the Wolverines on games of 204, 224, and 230, while senior Dom Wood had a 622 on games of 202, 221, and 199, senior Carter Hayes added a 591, including a 204 in the middle game, and senior Trenton Sindoni added a 578, including games of 207, and 236.

Nate Adams led CV with a 604 series, including games of 215, and 217, while Sawyer Jackson shot a 537, including a 202, and Austin Greenmun added a 527 series, including a 230 in the first game.

GIRLS
Waverly 5, Chenango Valley 0

Conklin rolled a 553, and Hayes shot a 530, including a 203 in the middle game, to lead Waverly to a total-pinfall victory of 2,166 to 1,894.

Rylie Witman had a 406 for the Wolverines, and Kaitlyn Burns added a 405.

Jaiden Panella led CV with a 463 series, and while Herczeg and a 449, and Gabby Vazquez added a 405.

Waverly returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Union-Endicott.
