VESTAL — The Waverly girls, led by 8th-grader Karis Hayes, finished fourth at the STAC Bowling Championships, while the Waverly boys, led by sophomore Derek Johnson, placed second at the league’s End-of-Season Tournament here Monday afternoon at Midway Lanes.

The STAC pits the division champs against each other in the Championships, while the rest of the teams bowl in an end-of-the-season tournament.

GIRLS
Elmira won the team title with a 2,567 series, while Windsor was second at 2,534, Maine-Endwell was third at 2,517, and Waverly was fourth at 2,445.

Karis Hayes led the Wolverines with a 571 series, including a 203 in the first game, and 7th-grader Ariel Houseknecht shot a 548, including a 211 in the second game.

Junior Serenity Conklin rolled a 507, including a 208 in the first game and 8th-grader Rylie Witman added a 465.

Junior Kaitlyn Burns shot games of 159, and 92, and 7th-grader Aby Apgar tacked on a 103.

BOYS
Elmira won the End-of-Season Tournament with a 3,305 series, while Waverly tallied 3,268. Horseheads was third at 2,844, with Vestal fourth 2,757, and Union-Endicott fifth at 2,728.

Sophomore Derek Johnson shot a 779 on games of 296, 235, and 248, while senior Carter Hayes shot a 660 on games of 236, 230, and 194, and senior Trenton Sindoni shot a 631 series on games of 217, 202, and 212.

Senior Dom Wood fired a 630 on games of 178, 233, and 219 for the Wolverines, and sophomore Tristan Campbell added a 568 series, including a 215 in the second game.

JV BOYS
Elmira won the junior varsity boys championship with a 3,101 series, while U-E was second at 2,678, and Waverly was third at 2,490.

Roger Webster led the Wolverines with a 615 series on games of 196, 188, and 231, while Colton Santalucia shot a 560, including a 203 in the first game.

Trevor Allen added a 489 series, and Cameron Wood tacked on a 442.
