ROCHESTER — The postseason honors continue to pour in for Waverly grad Sidney Tomasso, a junior on the St. John Fisher women’s basketball team.

After being named the Empire 8 Conference “Player of the Year”, and first-team all-conference selection, Tomasso has been named to the Region III First Team by D3Hoops.com.

Tomasso also earned All-American Honorable Mention recognition when the Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced its Division III honors recently.

On the season, Tomasso, who started in all 26 games she played in, averaged 16.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.9 steals per game.  She canned 41 3-pointers on the season, and shot 81 percent (94 of 116) from the free-throw line.

Tomasso was second in the conference in scoring, and overall points (351), was third in free-throw percentage, and was eighth in rebounds per game, and field goals percentage (42.3 percent).

She also earned Most Valuable Player at the Empire-8 Conference Championships after leading
the Cardinals to the conference title, which clinched an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Championships.
