Wendi Hammond, a senior on the University of Albany softball team, bounced back from consecutive losses at Bryant College with three consecutive wins last to achieve a career-high in wins for a season.
On Thursday, Hammond allowed one run on three hits, while striking out five and walking none in four innings to lead Albany to an 11-1 win over Providence College.
On Saturday, Hammond tossed her fourth complete-game shutout of the season, allowing three hits, while striking out five and walking two in seven innings of a 1-0 win. It was her career-high 15th win.
On Sunday, Hammond tossed five innings of two-hit ball, striking out three and walking none in a 9-0 five-inning win.
On the season, Hammond is 16-7 with a 2.22 ERA. She has allowed 114 hits in 126 innings, with 83 strikeouts and 43 base on balls.
Albany, now 21-11, hosts Army in a doubleheader Tuesday.
