WAVERLY — Waverly bounced back from three straight losses to Chenango Valley by taking two of three from Chenango Forks in STAC junior varsity baseball action last week.

Waverly 10, Chenango Forks 0
At Chenango Forks, Daltton Davis and two relievers combined on a no-hitter in Waverly’s 10-0 win over Chenango on Monday.

Davis fanned 11 and walked one in six innings to earn the win. Sam Cheresnowsky walked two and struck out one, and Aiden Doherty struck out both batters he faced to finish off the seventh inning.

Bryce LaForest was 4-for-4 with a double, three runs scored, three stolen bases, and one RBI to pace Waverly’s 11-hit attack, while Jerry Carnrike singled twice, scored one run, and drove in two runs, and Cheresnowsky singled twice, stole two bases, and scored one run.

Maison Apgar doubled and scored one run in the win, while Ahren McCarthy singled and scored one run, Derek Johnson singled and drove in one run, Davis had one RBI, and Chase Wheeler, Logan Roskow, and Doherty each scored one run.

Waverly 9, Chenango Forks 5

At Waverly, Maison Apgar’s two-RBI triple in the bottom of the third inning gave Waverly the lead for good in its 9-5 win over Chenango Forks Tuesday.

Waverly trailed 3-2 until Aiden Doherty’s RBI single tied the game, and Apgar’s triple put the Wolverines up 5-3.

Daltton Davis had three hits, including a triple, one runs scored, two stolen bases, and one RBI to pace Waverly’s 11-hit attack, while Sam Cheresnowsky doubled and singled, scored one run, and drove in two runs, and Derek Johnson doubled and singled, and scored two runs.

Aiden Doherty singled twice, scored one run, and drove in one run in the win, while Apgar tripled, scored one run, and had two RBI, LaForest added a single, Chase Wheeler and Payton Robinson each stole two bases, and scored one run, and Logan Roskow crossed the plate once.

Doherty earned the win, allowing two runs on three hits, while striking out four and walking one in three innings of relief. Roskow closed out the game with 1 2/3 innings of shutout relief, allowing one hit, walking three, and striking out one.

Chenango Forks 7, Waverly 6
At Waverly, the Blue Devils scored five runs in the bottom of the third to rally for a 7-6 win in a game shortened to four innings due to varsity game being played on same field.

Daltton Davis singled, scored two runs, stole four bases, and drove in one run, while Chase Wheeler and Aiden Doherty each added singles to account for Waverly’s three hits. Cheresnowsky stole five bases, and scored three runs, and LaForest crossed the plate once.

Waverly, now 3-4, returns to action Monday when it hosts Susquehanna Valley.
