IAC BOYS GOLF: ROE, LUTHER LEAD TIOGA TO WIN OVER GROTON (2024-04-23)
Valley Sports ReportGROTON — Senior Tyler Roe and junior James Luther, who shot a career-low round for the third consecutive match, shared low-medal honors to lead Tioga to an 18-stroke win over previously-unbeaten Groton here Tuesday afternoon in IAC Small School boys golf action here at Stone Hedges Golf Course.
The Tigers, now 5-1, topped the Indians (3-1) 165-183.
Roe and Luther, who shot a 41 and a 40 in his last two matches, each shot rounds of 37, and both posted eagles on the par-4 14th hole with chip-ins, and also recorded birdies during their rounds.
Senior Evan Sickler shot a 45 for the Tigers, and senior Levi Bellis added a 46. Senior Brandon Rafferty, and freshman Maddux Dyson both tacked on non-scoring rounds of 49.
Conor Eldred led Groton with a 40, and Gage Seamans added a 46.
Tioga returns to action Wednesday at Trumansburg’s Village Course.
