The Redskins had the lead-off hitter in each of its three innings reach base.

Junior Mercedez Haggerty led off the bottom of the third inning with a single, but was wiped off the bases by a fielder’s choice off the bat of sophomore Olivia Thompson, who was stranded at first base.

Thompson led off the first with a base on balls, but was replaced on the bases after a fielder’s choice off the bat of junior Raegan Parrish, who was stranded at second after moving up on a wild pitch.

Senior Meghan Flynn was hit by a pitch to lead off the second inning, then took second on a groundout off the bat of junior Layla Bennett. Flynn advanced to third on a wild pitch, but was stranded there.

Sayre, now 2-6, returns to action Friday, when it hosts Williamson.
