IAC BOYS GOLF: TRUMASNBURG EDGES TIOGA BY 2 STROKES, DESPITE SICKLER'S 38 (2024-04-24)

Valley Sports Report
TRUMANSBURG — Tioga senior Evan Sickler and Trumansburg’s Nico Potenza shared low-medal honors, but the Blue Raiders pulled out a 178-180 win over the Tigers  in IAC boys golf action here on a cold and blustery Wednesday afternoon at The Village Golf Course.

Sickler fired a 2-over par round of 38, with two birdies on the first three holes — the par-5 first hole, and the par-4 third hole — to pace the Tigers, who fall to 5-2 on the season.

Seniors Tyler Roe and Levi Bellis shot rounds of 46 and 47, respectively, for Tioga, and junior James Luther added a 49.

Owen Seaver, and senior Brandon Rafferty tacked on non-scoring rounds of 54 and 56 for the Tigers.

Potenza’s 38 was supported by Lucas Hunter’s 41 in the Blue Raiders’ win.

Tioga returns to action Thursday when it takes on S-VE at The Club at Shepard Hills in Waverly.
