SYRACUSE — Waverly sophomore Elle Nittinger was named New York State Class B eighth-team all-state Monday by the New York State Sportswriters Association.

WYALUSING — Four pitchers combined on a seven-hitter to help Athens to a 10-3 win over Wyalusing here Wednesday afternoon in NTL Large School baseball action.

The win put a damper on the festivities surrounding the game as Wyalusing honored long-time former coach Gene Salsman by naming the baseball field in his honor. Salsman is the grandfather of Athens coach Brendon Hitchcock. ...more
