There were only seven bouts in the match, which featured three no contests in three weight classes and three forfeits, but when there was action on the mat, it had the crowd at a fever pitch.

It doesn't seem to matter the circumstances surrounding the match, when Sayre and Athens wrestle it makes for an exciting evening.

The award was presented by longtime Elmira Notre Dame football coach Mike D'Aloisio and is named after the former three-sport standout, who died at the tender age of 22 from cancer in 1998.
