SHIPPENSBURG — Athens sophomore Breana Gambrell broke the school record twice Friday, and brought home her second PIAA gold medal in the long jump in as many years at the Class AA Track & Field Championships at Shippensburg University.

SHIPPENSBURG — The Athens 400-meter relay foursome of freshmen Ariana Gambrell and Rachel Hutchison, junior Shanell Baglini, and sophomore Breana Gambrell broke the school record for the second weekend in a row, and ran the fifth-fastest time in the preliminaries to qualify for Saturday’s semifinals here Friday at the PIAA, Class AA Track & Field Championships at Shippensburg University.

The Lady Wildcat quartet clocked in at 49.18 seconds — nearly one-quarter-of-a-second faster than last week’s gold medal-winning performance at the District 4 Championships — and they believe there is room for improvement. ...more

ENDICOTT — Junior Parker Hendershot is already the most prolific single-season hitter in Tioga baseball history.

Thursday, Hendershot etched his name into the record book by throwing a one-hitter in blanking Lansing, 3-0, in the Section IV, Class C championship game here at Pete Sylvester Field on the campus of U-E High School.

The state’s top-ranked Tigers now have back-to-back Class C baseball titles to go along with five consecutive Class D football titles. ...more
